Following on from the work we carried out in March 2025, our second clean up of this contaminated site was very successful. We managed to remove tonnes more plastic from the woodland and lake, restoring the area to a habitat that can support life.

Progress achieved so far …
Nurdle’s vacuum system recovered the plastic material in the area, without disturbing the roots of the plants that were attempting to grow there. The microplastic layer was over 30cm deep in some areas. Below the surface lay soil and nature has a wonderful way of recovering very quickly.

The photos show the extent of the issue and the impact that our cleanup has made. The accumulation of the plastic waste in the food chain must have been devastating. Nature can now move back into a new home.
